Even if you have generated a great deal of traffic to your blog or your aiming to grow your traffic. You always looking for ways to grow your traffic. Even more so, you are looking for qualified traffic to your site. (People who are interested in the content you write).
LinkedIn is a tremendous way to generate a lot of free and organic traffic to your blog. Although LinkedIn is great for job seekers during economic climate, it is a lot more than that. Individuals and companies are achieving more professional goals than you can really think of.
A few examples on what LinkedIn can provide you:
Complete your profile
I spend a lot of time on LinkedIn and you will be amazed at how many people have not even completed their profiles yet! If your profile is incomplete and looking bare, people will lose interest very quickly therefore may never click on your website links.
If you want people to read your profile and click on your websites then make your profile stand out. Make it look professional and eye-catching throughout. Complete your profile not 90%. The more you complete, the more people will read and visit links you have posted. Also do not forget to add a great picture of yourself. The profile is about you not the logo of your company. People like to do business with people.
Another thing that I seriously recommend you doing is customising your website links. You are missing out on a whole lot of potential traffic if you do not. Customize your website links to make them attractive and see your profile-lookers click with interest.
Increase your connections
The more connections you have, the more people will have access to your profile. LinkedIn like Facebook gives you the option to share a status. Every time you update your profile, join a group etc. this shows up on the homepage of your connections. If you only have 250 connections, this limits you to how many people see your updates therefore limits the amount of potential clicks on your profile and website links. Make sure you are constantly updating and adding new connections.
Join "your" niche groups
Whatever your blog is about, there is an audience of people on LinkedIn that share interest with. To make it easy to find these people click on the “Group Search” tab and type in some key words that relate to your blog. I have just created a group called "Web Success" that focuses on helping people dominate the internet. Its also nice to see other people sharing their successes also.
Some niche groups have thousands of members. I am talking over 500,000 members who are actively talking and involved with other members. If you are not in the groups you really are missing out on some valuable traffic. Join as many groups as you can, I think the limit is 50 but make sure they are relevant to your blog.
Answer questions
This is an incredible way to drive traffic to your blog. The more questions and queries you answer for other people, the better your chances are of that person asking the question to click on your blog to learn more about you and possibly answer more questions they have.
LinkedIn continues to be one of the top sites that drives traffic to my blog, thanks to these examples, but the power of LinkedIn doesn’t stop here. What other tips have you found through using LinkedIn to increase traffic to your blog?
