Posted by Unknown on 02:28 with No comments
This is a question on many bloggers tongues at the moment and thinking whether what they are doing is correct. Am I posting to much or am I not posting enough? Well the truth is, there are not right and wrong answers to this question. There is advantages and disadvantages to this.

In this post today we will look at how posting benefits you with hardly no posting frequency to the likes of posting daily or twice daily etc. You will need to determine what your targets are for your blog. If you want to grow your blog and attract a community and readers, you will need to put some thinking in place into your posting frequency.

King of Contents

For a blogger the most important thing is your content. I know I go on about this all the time but its true! Nobody comes to your blog to see your fancy design theme and the pretty widgets. People want to know what you have to say and what you can teach them. What makes a great post is your ability to interpret a problem or some information that sends a clear message. Your posting frequency is directly tied to the activeness of your blog.

To post or not to post?

Well lets take a look at your national or local newspaper, would you buy the newspaper everyday if the articles were the same? Of course you wouldn't. If the articles are new everyday, your more likely to buy that newspaper. The same theory applies to blogs. People come to your blog to read your articles. That's not to say you have to post everyday. Every couple of days or maybe once a week is fine, as long as you have that consistency. There is no reason to visit your blog everyday if your contents is the same.

If you are to write consistently and your articles excite your visitors, the more and more your visitors are going to come back and will be classed as readers (or followers of your blog).

The more new content there is for people to see and the more reason there is for people to visit again and again.

Posting frequently can attract new visitors

Not only having frequently updated content keep your readers already coming back to see what you have to say, but it can also help with your SEO (Search Engine Optimisation). The more and more content you have on your blog, the better your chances are at being found in the search engines.

Determine your goals for your blog

Below is a way of looking at how you want your blog to grow. If you want your blog to increase subscribers, money and readership, unfortunately you are going to have to post a lot more than you already are. Unwritten rules all over the blogs atmospheric world follow this as a blog posting guideline suggestion.

  • For maximum growth: post multiple times per day to drive the most traffic (3-5 times or more is considered best for power bloggers).
  • For steady growth: post at least once per day.
