An ideal lifestyle for some is to sit at home and earn money from your sofa. Sounds great doesn't it? But this is not as easy as you would think. I have been blogging for nearly two years and I am only just seeing an income now. Not a great one to be honest but at least it gives me some extra playing around money.
When I set out two years ago I never thought I would even make any cash from my blog and because I have kept at it I have! You can too! if you want to make money fast, blogging isn't for you. There are many bloggers out there that earn money, but very few make a lot. It is possible to earn a great living and be set for life but you have to be very patient. Enjoying your blog and enjoying writing is a way to get through the hard times and you must appreciate the little gains. For example an increase in traffic over a week or more comments for your posts. Anything that's an increase is worth appreciating. So celebrate it. Buy yourself that nice meal that you have been craving. Its important to be happy about your gains or you will lose interest quickly.

Most popular blogs are ones that help other people with problems they are facing or blogs on the latest movies and celebrity news. Google AdSense is one of the leading advertisement programmes on the web today. Google automatically places relevant ads on your blog to increase the conversion of sales. AdSense operates on a cost-per-click basis (CPC). The only problem with this is that Google shows ads you may not want even though they are relevant and you don't know how much you will be payed. Google is a great way of starting out on your blog. All my blogs run AdSense but I will be changing shortly and that's a whole other post.
AdSense is great if you have the traffic and can certainly bring you an income. Incomes vary in range of price from as little as £0.23 to £1.12 depending on the ads. There is a downside to using Google though, they will only pay out your earnings once you have earned more than £60.00. Which has significantly increased in the last few months from when it used to be only £10.00. If you don't mind that then think of it this way. Its a way of saving for a moment. There are blogs out there that do that in a day! Wouldn't it be nice to have £60.00 injected into your account everyday for the rest of your life? You wouldn't have to work that much anymore.
Starting out on a new blog this will take you a while to accomplish. So if you take anything from me in this post, please! Stick to your blog and keep at it. The rewards are great and can only get better if you apply yourself.

Amazon Affiliate Programme is a great money maker for a blog just starting out and is possibly the most popular affiliate programme. The reason its such a success is because Amazon has built its reputation and has become a household name. A lot of people in the world shop on Amazon and trust them. This gives you an advantage of selling. If you are building a blog that is focusing on a niche, you can write product reviews and encourage people to buy them. This works incredibly well and I still use it on some of my other blogs. The way affiliate programmes work is you post a link onto your blog which redirects the reader to their site. If purchased along with anything else that they buy, Amazon rewards you with a commission. Once you begin Amazon gives you a commission of 5% and the more and more you sell the commission percentage gets higher. The commission percentage caps at 10%.
If you are running a blog about the latest technology out and produce an outstanding report on a new flat screen television worth £2300 and your reader buys it, that's £230 for sitting at home. The more traffic you have going to that one post on your review of the television the more money you can make. Its that easy! What have you got to lose? This is why affiliate marketing is becoming more and more popular amongst bloggers and is an additional income stream.

Create your own product. This is the next step in creating your living from blogging. Build up a reputation and the skies the limit. You could bring out a collection of books.

Kindle Direct Publishing is a easy to use service and you can have your eBook published in no longer than 12 hours! A simple PDF can be converted into an easy to read resource for readers all over the planet. This can give you great exposure for you and your blog. Give it a go. Many people can write an eBook in a weekend. Take your time and perfect it. This can be a significant income for you and build your reputation as a writer.
